Roxette Sing for Super Mario Bros. Film

Press release by EMI United Kingdom, June 1993

Swedish superstars Roxette release a new single – Almost Unreal – on July 12th.

Written for the upcoming “Super Mario Bros.” film which opens nationwide on July 9th, the song was penned by guitarist Per Gessle who claims he never even read the script for the film. “I even dumped the Pretty Woman story (the film that gave Roxette their international smash It Must Have Been Love) in a dustbin at Dallas Airport! That’s the way to treat Hollywood!”

“Almost Unreal” is backed with “The Heart Shaped Sea” from the LP Tourism and the single is available on 7″, 12″, CD and cassette formats.

Since recording “Almost Unreal”, singer Marie Fredriksson gave birth to a baby girl on April 29th 1993. Her daughter Inez Josefin is said to be in excellent health and both parents are, of course, very happy.
